Computing
To ensure our children are being exposed to the skills and knowledge required to be successful ‘computational thinkers’ our computing curriculum is supported by Purple Mash. We understand that technology is an integral part of modern-day life and therefore aim to equip children with the knowledge and skills required to thrive in a rapidly changing technological world. Alongside the Purple Mash scheme our children are given freedom to use other computing tools and programmes across the whole school curriculum.
By the time children leave our school they will have gained key knowledge and skills in the three main areas of the computing curriculum: Computer Science (programming and understanding how digital systems work), Information Technology (using computer systems to store, retrieve and send information) and Digital Literacy (evaluating digital content and using technology safely and respectfully).
We strive to keep children safe online and provide them with the strategies, knowledge and tools to do so through discrete teaching modules. We also empower parents, carers and the wider community with up to date information regarding keeping children safe online.
